Formal Outfits for the Holidays

Often times, there are a few formal gatherings that a girl must attend during the holiday season.

Oscar de la Renta metallic jacquard dress
$3,060 -

Lola Cruz pointed high heel pumps

Rebecca Minkoff party handbag

Ellen Hunter leaf hair accessory

Color coordination never goes out of style.  This outfit  includes a metallic princess-cut dress, navy heels and a matching clutch.  If you are wearing a solid colored dress and don't know what to wear with it, the simple choice is to find items in the same color.  When doing your makeup, try to stick to a color scheme, for example, the makeup in this set is a berry shade, but don't go to extremes or try over the top styles.

Short lace dress
$195 -

Badgley Mischka strappy shoes

Nina purse

Prom Night Prom 2015 12 x 12 Paper

This dress is comfortable, while still great for a formal event with the lace and metallic details.  The shoes and clutch are in a lighter, more silvery shade of lavender.

MAC Cosmetics lips makeup

Give your holiday outfit a sweet vintage look!  To get the look, wear a vintage or vintage-style dress with pumps or ballet flats, a clutch, and if you feel the need, a cardigan or a matching red lip.  If you really want to look like a blast from the past, try pin curls the night before, so you can have overnight curls.

Alice Olivia lace mini dress
$865 -

Dolce&Gabbana black evening shoes
$735 -

Chanel genuine leather bag

New Directions black wrap shawl

A dark sleeveless dress can be worn with a pashmina or shawl with embellished shoes for a classy and elegant look.

Lilly pulitzer dress

Warehouse pea coat
$135 -

Kate Spade gold shoes
$210 -

MICHAEL Michael Kors messenger bag
$225 -

Faux pearl jewelry
$2,105 -

Orelia metal headband

This is a fun and feminine look that can actually be worn throughout the year.  A pink fit-and-flare dress with sparkly ballet flats has personality, but can also be formal.  A pea coat is added for a warmth.

3 Festive and Casual Holiday Outfits

Hello! I am really sorry that I have not been very often lately... but I am back!  Here are a few festive and fun outfits that I have created to hopefully inspire you.

casual and Christmas-y

Rumour London turtleneck sweater
$175 -

Red shirt
$15 -

Converse sneaker
$145 -

Kate spade crossbody

A printed T-shirt paired with a denim skirt can be casual and humorous, while a turtleneck can keep you warm.

I wish it were colder and felt like winter

Red christmas sweater

Long slit skirt

UGG Australia bow booties

AĆ©ropostale hair band headband

I personally love these ear warmer headbands and Uggs right now!  I wear similar headbands when I go running in cold weather and was able to get a cute pair of Uggs while I was on vacation. This outfit is really great for a cold day when it's snowing outside and you're reading a book with a nice mug of hot chocolate (Nice visual, huh?).

AG Adriano Goldschmied denim jeans
$325 -

Converse pink shoes
$48 -

Michael kors purse

UGG Australia beanie hat

This outfit is festive, and while it involves a Christmas sweater, but still stylish.  It can be hard to find holiday sweaters and shirts that aren't embarrassing or just plain ugly, but when you do, it's very festive.  Which outfit is your favorite? Do you have a favorite holiday sweater?
